Q.: How can I prevent fine lines and wrinkles?
A.: Fine lines and wrinkles are cause by breaking down of collagen and elastin in your skin because collagen and elastin provide the support structure of your skin and also keep it smooth and resilience, when these fibres break down the skin begins to loose its elasticity and strength the results is fine lines and wrinkles starts to appear. Another major cause of skin age resulting in fine lines, rough texture and wrinkles, the big amount of people notice fine lines and wrinkles around their eyes and mouth. The most skin damage can be prevented with a little know-how and some special care. Here are some tips which can help to bit fine lines and wrinkles.
Deep cleanse: It seems many older women don't cleanse their skin as thoroughly as they should, this can lead to dryness and lines however, it is essential to ensure your skin is clear of dead skin cells, dirt and make up to give it a youthful fresh glow. (
Deep Moisturize: Don't forget to use your daily moisturizer during the night.
Boost the circulation: Use a gentle facial scrub or exfoliater once a week to keep the surface of your skin soft and smooth. When massaged into damp skin these particles dislodge dead surface skin cells revealing the younger fresher cells underneath and increases the blood flow to the top layer of your skin which encourage cells renewal, the result is a rosier glow skin.
Protect your skin from the sun: The single biggest cause of skin ageing is sunlight. You should use a sunscreen, a good pair of sunglasses and hat are preferable on the minute when the first rays begin to peep over the horizon. Keep them handy at all times.
Break smoking habit: Smoking cigarettes speeds up the ageing process because it strips your skin of oxygen and slows down the rate at which new cells are regenerated. Smoking can also give the skin a grey look and causes fine lines around the mouth.
Be gentle: Be careful you have to pay attention for your skin when applying skin care products or make up. Your skin around the eyes is particularly vulnerable for showing the signs of age, a heavy touch can cause the skin to stretch you have to make sure that always use.

Q.: What is ECZEMA?
A.: Eczema, or dermatitis as it is sometimes called, is a group of skin conditions which can affect all age groups. In the United Kingdom, up to one fifth of all children of school age have eczema, along with about one in twelve of the adult population. The severity of the disease can vary. In mild forms the skin is dry, hot and itchy, whilst in more severe forms the skin can become broken, raw and bleeding. Although it can sometimes look unpleasant, eczema is not contagious. With treatment the inflammation of eczema can be reduced, though the skin will always be sensitive to flare-ups and need extra care.

Q.: What causes ECZEMA?
A.: The causes of eczema are many and varied, and depend on the particular type of eczema that a person has. Atopic eczema is thought to be a hereditary condition, being genetically linked. It is proposed that people with atopic eczema are sensitive to allergens in the environment which are harmless to others. In atopy there is an excessive reaction by the immune system producing inflamed, irritated and sore skin. Associated atopic conditions include asthma and hayfever. Other types of eczema are caused by irritants such as chemicals and detergents, allergens such as nickel, and yeast growths. In later years eczema can be caused by a blood circulatory problems in the legs. The causes of certain types of eczema remain to be explained, though links with environmental factors and stress are being explored.

Q.: What does glycolic skin care do?
A.: You must use a 8-12% glycolic acid product two times a day for the "minimum" results. Full benefits are achieved after 6 months of use.
  1. Stimulates COLLAGEN and ELASTIN in the dermis, the second major layer of the skin. Collagen functions as a "Jell-O" mattress in the skin, and elastin gives the skin expandability to change shape and not break. If you pinch your skin and it stays pinched the elastin is in very poor condition. The skin should snap back into place like a rubber band. Imagine the "Jell-O" mattress with cracks and dents covered by a bed sheet. The bed sheet takes on the appearance of the mattress, as would the top layer of skin covering the collagen in your skin. Age takes a toll by thinning the top layer, allowing it to hang. The body stops readily producing collagen and elastin around the age of 28 years. Alas, time to fool Mother Nature. Improves acne scars by lowering the top and raising the bottom of the scar for a smoother look. Some clients see an improvement in the gray shadowing.
  2. Stimulates GLYCOS-AMINO-GLYCANS, abbreviated name GAGS, in the dermis, the second major layer of the skin. They are moisture-binding ground substances that bind water to them, expanding the dermis for a smoother appearance and turgor (to'gor) (the normal consistency of living tissue). One of these compounds is "hyaluronic acid," which binds water so tightly its appearance is gel-like. The visual aid for this definition is imagining a dry sponge; by adding water, the sponge will grow in volume, holding the water inside the sponge. If you stimulate more GAGS they will bind water to the dermis, which will plump in volume. The skin is much healthier than before, especially after losing GAGS with age.
  3. LOOSENS the glue-like substance or BOND holding dead CELLS together. Dead cells build up inside the follicle, setting the stage for acne. Preventing this process is necessary in controlling acne. Glycolic acid prevents dead cells from clumping together, which will eventually harden, forming a plug. Your skin's oil should be able to carry dead cells to the surface to be exfoliated. Skin over the age of 28 years is considered to be mature skin. Glycolic acid helps aging skin by removing dead cells that have a case of the "lingers." The whole "cellular turn-over" process slows, allowing old cells to sit on the surface of the skin, causing a dull, lifeless look. Removing old cells stimulates new cells to replace them for a fresher, healthier appearance. The skin's metabolism is in optimal working order, returning the luster, a sign of good health. Cleaning the follicle allows the walls to lie together, making the orifice appear smaller and more refined. Upon discontinuing glycolic acid, pores will return to an extended state, giving the impression of larger pore size.
  4. EVENS out the SKIN TONE of the top layer of the skin (EPIDERMIS) by eliminating darker pigment. Glycolic acid will not stop new darker pigment from occurring. You will need to use Fade Gel 4 to stop new dark pigment from reoccurring.
  5. IMPROVES the TEXTURE of the skin by packing the cells back down, similar to fish scales or tiles on a roof. Broken or splintered cells have jagged edges, giving the skin a rough feel and allowing moisture to evaporate faster. Tightly packed cells return the luster of the skin, which is an SPF 1 and slows the evaporation rate.
  6. ANTI OXIDANT or ENDIAL. Glycolic acid attaches itself to free radicals in the skin, rendering them inert.
  7. Nicholas Perricone, M.D., holds the patent for glycolic acid's use on INGROWN HAIRS. The condition is called pseudofolliculitis barbe and is characteristic to individuals with curly hair in the beard, neck and public region. The lesions are red bumps, often forming pus, with the hair growing back into the skin, causing infection. Glycolic acid prevents skin from growing over the hair opening that normally would assist in forcing the hair tip back into the skin. There is some information indicating it helps straighten the hair, so it will not curl back into the skin.

This will ensure the following benefits:
  • The texture of the skin will improve within the first few weeks.
  • Skin tone should even out after 3 months.
  • Collagen and elastin improvement will start to be evident after 6 months.
  • Hormonal acne breakouts can occur up to a year after starting glycolic acid, but should improve each month.
  • Small scar reduction takes 6 months to a year for improvement.

Every human body improves at a different rate, so have patience with yourself. The nice attribute of glycolic is you will always keep improving over time.
    Q.: Ingrown Toenails
A.: An ingrown toenail is a painful foot condition in which the edge of the nail cuts into the flesh, this condition occurs most frequently in the big toe and may affect one or both sides of the nail. Initially it may only cause a little discomfort but as the nail grows deeper into the flesh the toe usually becomes infected and very painful. The skin becomes irritated, red, shiny and swollen with a throbbing pain and the toe is painful to touch. Certainly the first line of defence for this condition is good supporting shoes which have a wide toe box and a low heel. Nail softeners can be used to help the nail from piercing the skin but for successful treatment of an ingrown toe nail it is advisable to visit your local State Registered Chiropodist / Podiatrist. They will be able to treat the condition and give you advice on how to manage and avoid the problem reoccurring. If the condition is painful enough and non-responsive to conservative treatment, then surgical correction is indicated. An ingrown toenail is a serious condition for people with impaired circulation, diabetes or other systemic diseases should seek treatment from a State Registered Chiropodist / Podiatrist or your family doctor.

    Q.: Poor Circulation
A.: Poor circlation is a common condition mainly affecting middle-aged to elderly people and especially those who smoke.
Hypertension is one of the causes - cholesterol plaque are deposited along the walls of the arteries, making them harden and constrict. Because the arteries are constricted, the blood exerts great force against the walls of the blood vessels, causing the blood pressure to rise.
Another cause is hardening of the arteries - the arteries narrow due to these same fatty deposits.
Additionally, poor circulation can result from varicose veins that develop because of a loss of elasticity if the walls of the veins.
